LIKE A SCAFFOLDING

there's a certain sort of empty that descends when you're doing something you know you ought not be doing. there sure as hell ain't a thing in the world that can convince you that you ought not be doing what you're doing, or that what you're feeling isn't what you're actually feeling. but what can you do but pack it up, and stumble down the block to the next establishment? cause you're young, you're bright and you're resilient; and you've managed to surround yourself with a ragtag band of equally dysfunctional people who can each muster up just enough to contribute one brick to your support system that's peculiarly stronger than it appears on paper, and is somehow capable of holding you up. like a scaffolding, someday you won't need it anymore; you'll be stable enough to stand without it; but you'll leave it there anyway because you like the way it feels.

THERE IS A TOWN IN NORTH ONTARIO, WITH DREAM COMFORT MEMORY TO SPARE, AND IN MY MIND I STILL NEED A PLACE TO GO,

ALL MY CHANGES WERE THERE
